“But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31

Meet Slade–a young man filled with tenacity, courage, and boldness to face life’s adversities. Slade has had his fair share of medical challenges since he was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2018. With all the physical, emotional, and spiritual trials that came with his diagnosis, Slade has always found his strength in God.

“To be able to meet Tim Tebow, an inspirational and devout Christian, would mean the world to Slade. Ever since Slade's diagnosis, it has changed his whole outlook in life. He treats every day like his last because he is so thankful to still be here. He is a very encouraging and positive kid.”

In October 2021, it was our honor to grant Slade a W15H weekend with Tim! The exciting weekend started on a Friday with a surprise shopping spree at Dick’s Sporting Goods. Then, Slade and his family spent a fun evening with Tim at dinner and played corn hole and Connect Four. The night was filled with meaningful conversations including several centered upon Slade’s and Tim’s shared interest in football. If Slade took anything home with him from that night, it was definitely the joy and laughter that came with having Tim and his family all in the same room!

On Saturday, Slade was introduced to the live crowd at the SEC Nation and was encouraged to see so many people rally for him behind the scenes. Another highlight from his weekend was being able to go on field during the University of Mississippi vs Louisiana State University game.

This special weekend designed just for Slade opened the doors for his TTF family to continue building a relationship with him throughout his medical journey. Today, we are excited to let you know that Slade is in remission from cancer! He has put his faith in God above all, and his life continues to serve as a testament that God gives supernatural strength and courage to those who seek Him.

If you would like to support us in providing additional W15H experiences for children like Slade, we invite you to donate today or join The Movement. 100% of every dollar raised goes directly towards outreach.
