TTF Ambassador Highlight, Christopher Della Rocco, who goes by Rocco for short, will forgo traditional New Year’s plans on January 1, 2016 to help the Tim Tebow Foundation bring Faith, Hope and Love to children around the world!
Measuring 19,340 feet, Mt. Kilimanjaro is the tallest mountain in Africa, and the highest freestanding mountain in the world! Rocco has contemplated climbing Kilimanjaro for several years, but just recently committed to summiting the mountain this January. “By reaching the summit of Kilimanjaro, I wish to show my children that anything is possible, all goals are attainable if you put forth the effort, and by doing it for charity, I wish to show them that we all can make a difference,” shared Rocco in regards to his passion for attempting to summit the giant that rises from the Tanzanian plains.
Della Rocco’s trek to Create Brighter Days will take place across the Machame Route, which is a 6-day hike with a summit day that is long, strenuous and at an incredibly high elevation. Prayers will be with Rocco as he trains and later embarks on his incredible trek to Create Brighter Days! Rocco is well on his way to completing his fundraising goal of $5,000, as he has already garnered more than $1,500 in donations!
On why he chose the Tim Tebow Foundation for which to fundraise, Della Rocco shared, “My decision was made when I read the TTF mission: ‘To bring Faith, Hope and Love to those needing a brighter day in their darkest hour of need.’ The foundation utilizes the public platform that God has blessed Tim Tebow with to inspire and make a difference in people’s lives throughout the world. Who wouldn’t want to donate to such a cause? Who wouldn’t climb a mountain for such a cause?” His efforts to raise funds for TTF are a true blessing!
