Sarah: from being violently chased to lovingly embraced

Meet Sarah!

Sarah is a very intelligent young lady and was integrated to a loving family through myLIFEspeaks, a partner ministry of the Tim Tebow Foundation dedicated to Orphan Care + Prevention. Since Sarah was welcomed into myLIFEspeaks, she has been integrated into a loving family and has made tremendous progress emotionally, mentally, and physically.

Sarah’s story of redemption started when she was found along a highway in Haiti while being chased by children and adults with rocks and sticks–a far contrast from her current situation in a safe and loving community today.

Sarah’s medical condition was misunderstood in her former community. Her episodic seizures and epilepsy–falling down, trembling, and eyes rolled back–were assumed to be signs of a person who is possessed by evil spirits. It is common for people in Haiti to misunderstand people with conditions and symptoms like Sarah’s.

When Sarah arrived at myLIFEspeaks, she was given space and time to rest and heal in a safe environment. Sarah now attends LIFE Academy as part of a special education class. She loves to participate in school activities while giving a helping hand to her classmates. She also goes to church with her family and is treated with kindness and patience by a loving community.

Sarah is no longer running away from people who are violently chasing her because of a medical condition. Instead, she is now lovingly embraced by a community who intentionally provides care for her in every way.
