Prayers for Hunter

Hello May 25th, 2016

Please join our Tim Tebow Foundation prayer team in lifting up W15H child, Hunter Crain. When we first met Hunter in 2013, we learned that he loved the game of football but was unable to play it because of his heart condition. When Hunter was just five days old, he turned blue and his parents rushed him to the emergency room. They found out that Hunter has hypoplastic left heart syndrome, which affects the blood flow through his heart and causes symptoms like shortness of breath, irregular heartbeat and fatigue. As a result of this condition, Hunter has endured several procedures and some really intensive surgeries, which ultimately caused a complication of a severely dilated right atrium. In December 2013, at the age of 16, Hunter was placed on a waiting list for a heart transplant. He had to stop going to school in order to protect his immune system as he awaits his heart transplant surgery.

Hunter and his family have been patiently waiting for two and a half years for the call to come in letting them know that he will be receiving a new heart. Part of the reason it has taken so long is because Hunter is in need of pulmonary arteries and veins along with the heart. During this time of waiting, the Crains have been surrounded by incredible support from family, friends and their church community. While this waiting stage can be so difficult, they take comfort in knowing that time is in God’s hands. Hunter’s mom, Nancy, tells us they are confident that in God’s perfect timing, Hunter will receive “the perfect match with all the parts!”

Please join us in praying for Hunter as he awaits a new heart. It is a unique prayer as a heart transplant ultimately involves the loss of a life to save a life. Please pray for Hunter’s current heart condition and his future heart transplant, including all those who will be involved in making it happen.

“Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.” Psalm 27:14
