At the Tim Tebow Foundation, the Christmas season is a time for celebration and reflection of our Savior’s coming—a birthday humanity won’t forget. We soak fully in the action God took on our behalf by humbling himself to earth. At times, though, we might become distracted by the glowing lights, holiday cheer and other festivities. Unintentionally, losing sight of the gift we have already received; one that we are called to share with everyone.
While there are many things we can learn from the birth of Jesus there is one that TTF stands for and advocates for each and every day: everyone matters! Jesus came into a broken world with the grace and love that spread exponentially through each person he came in contact with. Jesus was noted for spending time with people who were different than himself... Those of difference ages, ethnicities, physical and cognitive conditions, and cultural backgrounds. Following his intentional way with people and relationships, we to want to bring Faith, Hope and Love to all others—regardless of how the world may look past, diminish, or forget them.
Would you join us in a challenge? Let’s follow Jesus’s example closely this Christmas season by letting others know they are worthy of love and have a purpose; beautifully made in the image of their Creator. It could be through your giving to TTF to impact the lives of the precious children we serve or by simply connecting with that friend, person with special needs, or lonely neighbor who needs to see Jesus’s love through you. It is reasonable to think that each of us is called to share the good news with those around us. We can use words, we can use our hands, or we can find creative ways to show the love of Jesus to all we encounter this Christmas season.
One place we hear this calling is in 1 Peter 2:9, which says,
“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”
We serve a mighty God who repairs, redeems, and restores -something which all of us who call ourselves believers have experienced. During this Christmas season, let’s be reminded of God’s truth that everyone matters and take the opportunity God has given us to let others know that truth. Join us in the fight to let ALL of God’s people know they are deeply loved and worthy of the ultimate gift: a personal relationship with the Creator of the universe who loves, forgives and comforts us in any place or stagein life.
