The Tim Tebow Foundation has a great passion for people with special needs and in 2014, we launched “Night to Shine.” The vision was simple… work with churches around the country to provide an unforgettable prom night experience, centered on God’s love for people with special needs, ages 14 and older.

In 2015, the first Night to Shine was held in 44 churches in 26 states and in 3 countries with 15,000 volunteers coming together to honor 7,000 guests… and we thought that was a God-sized blessing! In February 2020, God did immeasurably more than we could have asked or imagined, as 721 churches from 36 different denominations in all 50 states and 34 countries came together with 215,000 volunteers to serve and celebrate 110,000 honored guests with special needs! Then in February 2021 and 2022, due to the global circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic, Night to Shine was celebrated with Shine-Thru Parade adaptations of Night to Shine and a worldwide Virtual Celebration with thousands of people with special needs tuning in for a unique experience complete with a virtual walk down the red carpet, messages from celebrity guests, music, dancing and of course, a crowning ceremony where each guest was crowned a king or queen of the prom!

We at the Tim Tebow Foundation remain humbled and amazed by the incredible favor God has shown through the mission and movement of Night to Shine. Over the past eight years we have truly seen this event transform into a movement of the Holy Spirit through churches, volunteers and supporters all seeking to give glory to God by celebrating and advocating for people with disabilities and the value of life. The effect has been astounding as we have witnessed God begin to change the very culture in countries that have traditionally rejected people with special needs, as well as, rally the church worldwide to stand up for people with special needs and boldly proclaim the name of Jesus through word and action.

As the sponsor of Night to Shine, the Tim Tebow Foundation seeks to serve as a dynamic catalyst for churches to welcome the special needs community into their church family through Night to Shine. Our vision is to encourage, equip and support churches to not only host an unforgettable prom night experience, but create and maintain a thriving life-long ministry to their community of people with special needs. The Tim Tebow Foundation will continue to provide tools, guidance from a personal staff representative, marketing support, and other “branding” resources to help your church host the best possible prom night and consistently communicate this movement around the globe. We are grateful to be serving with you in this Kingdom advancing ministry. Also, we pray that we will see thousands of new churches join this movement, as God advances this work hopefully to the ends of the earth!

The foundation is deeply committed to providing financial support to assist churches around the globe in hosting Night to Shine. Churches may request grants from the Tim Tebow Foundation through their third year as a host church. Our hope and prayer is that churches moving into their fourth consecutive year of hosting have been able to form partnerships and have resources in place to support their local Night to Shine event and disability community for years to come. However, if that is not the case, grants may be available and will be reviewed based on needs shared.
