Tebow CURE Hospital: 100 Lives Changed!

The Tebow CURE Hospital is the result of years of planning, building, and praying without ceasing. After opening its doors in December, we are so excited to announce that we recently admitted our 100th patient for surgery! 100 surgeries is a major accomplishment for TCH and a true testament to the faithfulness of our Lord. But, the number is not the focus, rather the 100 stories of healing and renewed lives behind each and every surgery. Today, we share with you one of those stories, the 100th story! Meet Ithan, a four-year-old who has never been able to walk…
Ithan was born with extremely short and tight tendons in his legs, which makes it impossible for him to stand flat-footed, or to stand at all without support. Even at his young age, he knew that he was different from his friends and one-year-old brother. His friends at preschool treat him well, but Ithan still tells his mom Janice, “I want to walk, too.” Janice and her husband Owen tirelessly searched for a solution to Ithan’s disability, but only ran into closed doors and dead ends. They began to lose hope.
Then, they found the Tebow CURE Hospital and were scheduled for the surgery that would allow Ithan to walk for the first time in his life. His tendons were lengthened and relocated, allowing Ithan’s feet to lie flat. The surgery went smoothly, and after some post-surgery tears and lots of time camping out in Grandma Myrna’s lap, Ithan’s radiant smile returned!
Ithan is currently at home recovering in casts on both of his legs. He will begin physical therapy this month and will soon learn to walk on his own for the very first time!
