It’s About More Than Just Golf…

Over the past five years the Tim Tebow Foundation has been overwhelmingly blessed with the privilege of bringing Faith, Hope and Love to children needing a brighter day, and welcoming them into our TTF family. The relationships God allows us to develop with these children continue on past W15H experiences, Adoption Aid, and life-saving surgeries. Their stories of faith and courage have touched our hearts, and it is our desire to continually welcome them back to a place that feels like home.
One way we honor these incredible children and their families is through the Tim Tebow Foundation Celebrity Gala & Golf Classic. Although this event has played an integral role in the growth of our ministry, raising over $5.5 million in the past five years to support our outreach initiatives, it is also an opportunity to celebrate the children whom the Lord has blessed us with the privilege of serving. Some of our favorite moments from the Celebrity Golf Classic throughout the years are when the event becomes more than just about golf… check out some of very special moments from the past couple years:
During our 4th Annual Celebrity Gala & Golf Classic, TTF honored W15H friend, Kelly Faughnan, with the Platform of Purpose Award. Since her W15H in 2011, Kelly has started her own foundation (The Kelly Faughnan Foundation) and has raised more than $85,000 to support TTF’s W15H initiative. It is her desire for other children to receive a W15H experience like she did, just five years ago. We are so grateful for Kelly’s heart and proud of her for all that she has accomplished!
Also in 2014, TTF presented Adoption Aid child Alexander Joel and his family with a $20,000 medical grant to help Alex hear for the first time since he was found abandoned at a train station in China when he was just four years old. Through our Adoption Aid program, we are blessed to have played a small part of Alex’s story and of finding his forever family!
Last year, at our 5th Annual Celebrity Gala & Golf Classic, more than 50 W15H family members traveled in for the annual W15H Reunion. The weekend was an exciting gathering for W15H children and their families to spend time with one another over breakfast with Tim, lunch and games at Dave & Buster’s, their very own private Gala, and VIP status at the Golf Classic.
In addition to welcoming in the W15H families, in 2015 we had another very special guest join us from the other side of the world! One of the first Tebow CURE Hospital patients, Flora Mae, flew in all the way from the Philippines to share her incredible story of healing with the guests at our Gala. Thanks to her life-changing surgery at TCH, Flora Mae was able to walk the golf course at last year’s event!
This year, we are excited to have many of our W15H children and their families back again for another fun-filled weekend and cannot wait for the new stories of Faith, Hope and Love from the 6th annual Celebrity Gala & Golf Classic!
