Tim spoke in front of an audience of 4,800 in two packed worship services on Sunday, July 4 as part of the church’s annual “God and Country Day.”
In past years, First Redeemer’s “God and Country Day” has showcased famous political personalities like Oliver North and Ronald Reagan’s son, Michael. When the church’s senior pastor and founder Richard Lee was asked why he chose an athlete like Tebow to speak this July 4th, this is how he responded; “Why have Tim Tebow come on the Fourth of July? Because he’s an example for all Americans.”
